This weekend will be weekend #52. The official year mark of Brian and I living apart as we save for a house.
Weekend #45
My “time out” week was overdue. I didn’t even go out of town, and it has been one of the most needed vacations I have ever taken. It’s going to be really hard getting back into the swing of work.
I left Thursday for Winston-Salem. Brian and I only got to hang out for a couple of hours before he had to get some rest for work on Friday.
Friday I didn’t wake up until the afternoon, I was in such a deep sleep. When I woke up I started to do work, but stopped immediately. There will be no working during my time out vacation!
Saturday Brian drove 45 minutes just to get me Bojangles because I told him how I’d been craving it all week, and the one nearest his house was closed for remodeling. We had dinner at Monte De Rey, and spent the night watching old episodes of Arrested Development. I tried to make it to 3 a.m. when the new episodes would be launching on NetFlix, but I didn’t succeed.
I woke up way too late Sunday. Brian went golfing while I prepared for the wedding reception we attended.
Monday we went to a relaxed cook out at Brian’s friend’s house. The burgers and beers were so fitting. I drove into work the next morning.

Weekend #43
Friday
Brian and I watched the movie Pain and Gain, which was not at all like the we thought it’d be from watching the movie trailer. We were expecting a goofy comedy, but it turned out to be a pretty dark movie.
Saturday
We went to a restaurant in Durham that Auntie told us about called The Saucy Crab. When we got back home, we opened the balcony door while it rained.. great weather for napping, which is exactly what we did. Then we had dinner at the house and watched Jack Reacher.
Sunday
We ate at La Hacienda, and Brian spent the night with me. In the morning he drove me to work before he left, so sweet of him.. he knows how much I dislike taking the bus. I can’t wait for the day when that is over with.

Weekend #42
Friday
I worked from home then met Ashley for lunch at Sweet Tomatoes in Cary. That was my first time ever going there, but it is a little on the expensive side for what seemed like an upscale buffet.
Saturday
I was super unmotivated and didn’t do much of anything.
Sunday
Brian stopped by on his way back from his softball tournament, and I was so glad to see him. We got to hang out for just a couple of hours before he had to head back. Almost immediately after he left, I headed to Cameron Village in Raleigh and hung out with my beautiful girls, Ashley and Beverly. We had lunch at Cantina 18, then walked around for a little while. I spotted this really pretty cardigan at White House Black Market, but I’m holding out until it goes on sale.

The girls and I stopped by Starbucks before we had to part ways. We had a hilarious time.. I miss them so much. When I got home, I finished some design work for a lovely client. I’ll be adding her designs to my portfolio soon.
